**Here is where it all started, in VE6CNO’s garage on the wood stove in 2001!**

**In 2002 our repeater was almost burnt out by the Lost Creek Fire but was heavily doused by fire retardant which saved the buildings.**

**In early 2002 our repeater building was donated to us just 1km south of the forestry lookout by Trans Canada Pipelines.**

The VE6CNP repeater is an affiliate repeater of the FARS network (www.fars.ca) with the hub in Nanton Alberta at 145.170-. Without the FARS group the CNP repeater would not have been possible. Our western link to the East Kootenay Amateur Radio Club (EKRAC) in British Columbia also came together with the help of Joe Rieberger (silent key RIP) of the Cranbrook club. We greatly appreciate all of the help we have received from these two groups and enjoy working together to maintain this great network.
